CURTIS R. SMITH

Curtis Reed Smith was born and raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1984. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in the Baton Rouge Louisiana Mission.

Curtis’s legal specialties include;

-Criminal defense

-Adoptions, personal injury

-Medical malpractice

-Family law

He completed his undergraduate work in Political Science at Idaho State University. Curtis was active in student government and was elected to be a student Senator and later Student Body Vice President. He obtained his law degree at University of Idaho and was active in Moot Court Competitions.

 

With a passion for understanding the political process, Curtis spent a semester in Washington, DC working for Idaho Congressman Richard Stallings.

Curtis has worked as a Public Defender in Bannock County and then with private firms in Idaho Falls. He has served on the Seventh Judicial Magistrate Commission and the Board of Directors for Idaho Trial Lawyers. Curtis is a past Bar President for the Seventh Judicial District Bar Association as well as the past Inns of Court President.

A family man, Curtis is married to wife Kristine and together have four children, Chandler, Payton, Alex, and Addison. His hobbies include coaching and spectating his children’s sporting events, fly fishing, collecting and listening to music.
